Sourcing custom thermal components is not as simple as buying off the shelf. When you ask, “How much is a silicone heater?”, the honest engineering answer is: “It depends.”
A heater designed for a 3D printer bed is radically different from one designed for a medical IV warmer, even if they are the same size. Missing a single parameter—like lead wire exit location or sensor type—can delay your quote by days or lead to a prototype that doesn’t fit your housing.
As a Factory-Direct Manufacturer with 30+ years of OEM experience, HT-Heater wants to help you fast-track your project. This guide outlines the 5 Core Specs needed for an accurate BOM quote, explains our “Refundable Sample” policy, and shows you how to go from a napkin sketch to mass production in under 3 weeks.
Don’t have a CAD file? No problem. Our engineers can digitize your hand-drawn sketches.
To provide a binding price within 24 hours, our engineers need to define the following variables.
A. Dimensions & Geometry
Basics: Length x Width (Rectangular) or Diameter (Circular).
Complex Shapes: We can manufacture “Odd-shaped” heaters with notches, angles, or cutouts.
Holes: If you need holes for mounting bolts, please specify the Diameter and X/Y Coordinates of the center point.
Engineering Note: We need at least a 3-5mm “No-Heat Zone” around any hole to seal the internal element.
B. Electrical Parameters (Voltage & Power)
Voltage: 12V/24V DC (Mobile/Battery), 120V AC (US), or 230V AC (EU/Industrial)?
Power: Specified in Watts.
Not sure? Tell us your Target Temperature and the Mass/Material of the object you are heating. Our engineers will calculate the required thermal energy (Joules) and recommend a wattage for you.
C. Lead Wire Configuration
Length: Standard is 200mm. We can provide any length (e.g., 2 meters).
Exit Position:
Face Exit: Wires come out of the flat surface (requires a hole in your pressure plate).
Edge Exit: Wires come out of the side (best for thin profiles).
Connectors: Do you need bare wires, or pre-terminated plugs (JST, Molex, Anderson, SAE)?
D. Mounting Method
PSA Adhesive: 3M 468MP (Standard).
Mechanical: Holes for springs, eyelets, or Velcro.
Factory Vulcanization: Bonded permanently to your metal part (Best heat transfer).
E. Sensor Integration
Do you need temperature control?
NTC 100K Thermistor: For digital control.
Thermocouple (Type K/J): For industrial PLC.
Thermostat: A simple bimetal switch (e.g., “Open at 80°C”) for overheat protection.
2. No Drawing? No Problem.
We offer Reverse Engineering services to replicate existing parts.
Many of our clients are startups or maintenance managers who don’t have a dedicated CAD team.
Hand Sketch to CAD
Simply draw your heater on a piece of paper. Mark the dimensions, wire exit location, and voltage/wattage. Take a photo with your phone and email it to us. Our engineering team will generate a DWG/PDF approval drawing for you before production begins.
Looking for a cost-effective alternative to a retail brand?
Send us the physical sample of the heater you are currently using. We will measure it, analyze the internal circuit density, and create a 1:1 Replica (often with improved materials) at a lower bulk price.
3. Commercial Terms: Samples, MOQ & Lead Time
We operate as an industrial partner, not a retail store. Here is how our business model works for you.
The “Refundable Sample” Policy
Q: Why do you charge for samples?
A: Custom heaters require Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) costs: plotting the film, creating the silk screen or etching mask, and setting up the vulcanizing press.
The Promise: We treat the sample fee as a “Deposit.” When your subsequent mass production orders reach a certain value (typically $5,000 USD), we refund 100% of the sample tool cost.
Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ)
Prototype Phase: 1 – 5 pieces.
Pilot Run: 10 – 50 pieces.
Mass Production: 50+ pieces (Volume discounts apply).
Note: We are flexible. If you are a startup scaling up, we will grow with you.
Lead Time Expectations
Standard Samples: 5 – 7 Business Days.
Mass Production: 7 – 15 Business Days (depending on quantity).
Expedited Service: Available for urgent line-down situations (additional fee applies).
4. Why Choose HT-Heater? (The Factory Advantage)
Buy directly from the source. No trading companies, no middleman markups.
Factory Direct = Engineering Direct
When you buy from a trader, your technical questions go through a game of “Telephone.” When you work with HT-Heater, you speak directly to the engineers who design the etched foil circuits. This eliminates errors and speeds up development.
