High-Performance Tubular Heating Elements Replacement for Sauna Stove
Hongtai provides industrial-grade replacement heating elements designed to restore the efficiency of commercial and residential sauna stoves. Engineered to withstand the extreme thermal cycling of the sauna environment, these elements utilize precision helical wound nickel-chrome resistance wire and high-purity magnesium oxide compaction to ensure longevity even when subjected to direct water contact (steam generation).
Key Features:
-
Element Type: Tubular heating elements designed specifically for sauna stoves.
-
Sheath Material: Incoloy 800 (Recommended) or Stainless Steel 304/321.
-
Voltage: Standard 240V (Custom voltages 120V-480V available).
-
Diameter: Standard 8mm or 10mm (Available 6.4mm – 25mm).
-
Terminal: Threaded screw terminal with ceramic insulation for safe wiring.
-
Safety: Integral cold pin fusion welded ensures terminals remain cool.

Common shapes include the “Tennis Racket” loop (Fig 1) and “W-Bend” (Fig 2). We can reproduce any shape based on your sample or CAD drawing. Hongtai engineering is available to assist with the design.
SECTION 2:Applications for Sauna Stove Elements
These replacement elements are specifically engineered for:
-
Dry Saunas: High-temperature air heating where ambient temps exceed 80°C.
-
Wet Saunas (Steam): Elements capable of withstanding direct water splashing on hot rocks.
-
Commercial Spa Heaters: Heavy-duty cycle heaters running 12+ hours daily.

SECTION 3:Why Incoloy 800 is Critical for Sauna Tubes
Standard water heater elements often fail in saunas due to “Thermal Shock”—the rapid contraction caused by cold water hitting a red-hot tube.
-
SS304: Good for water immersion, but prone to oxidation in high-temp air.
-
Incoloy 800: The industry standard for sauna tubes. It withstands temperatures up to 800°C, resists oxidation, and maintains structural integrity during thermal shock events.
SECTION 4:Installation & Wiring Guide
-
Cold. Ensure the heated portion of the tube does not extend into the terminal box to prevent melting of wires.
-
Connection: Use the threaded screw terminal with ceramic/mica insulators to secure lead wires. Ensure nuts are torqued tightly to prevent arcing.
SECTION 5: FAQ (Replacement Focus)
Q: How do I know if this element fits my sauna stove?
A: Measure the element length (from flange/terminal to tip), the diameter of the tube, and the center-to-center distance between the terminals. Also, check the rating plate on your stove for Voltage and Wattage.
Q: Can I use a stainless steel element instead of Incoloy?
A: You can, but it is not recommended for saunas where water is poured on rocks. Stainless Steel 304 is rated for 650°C 15, whereas Incoloy 800 is rated for 800°C16. Incoloy lasts significantly longer in sauna environments.
Q: What is the lead time for 1 or 2 replacement pieces?
A: For standard wattages (2kW, 3kW) and shapes, we often have semi-finished stock. For custom bends based on your sample, production typically takes 5-7 working days.
