Installation & Integration Guidelines

  • Wire Preparation: Strip insulation back approx. 5mm. Do not tin the wires with solder, as this changes the metal composition; clamp the bare wire directly.
  • Polarity: Type K is polarized. The Negative (-) pin is slightly wider and is Red wire (ANSI). The Positive (+) pin is narrower and is Yellow wire (ANSI). Connect correctly to avoid negative temperature readings.
  • Strain Relief: Utilize the internal wire clamp or an external tube clamp to prevent pulling force on the screw terminals.
  • Temperature Limit: This is a thermoplastic connector rated for 220°C. For vacuum furnaces or ceramic kilns, request our High-Temp Ceramic version.
