Q: Can I use the surface probe on liquids?
A: You can, but it’s not ideal. The surface ribbon is delicate. For liquids (soup, oil, water), we recommend the Penetration probe for food, which is robust and sealed against moisture.
Q: Does this come with the digital display meter?
A: This product page is for the Probe Assembly only. However, we also sell complete kits including a high-precision digital thermometer. Please check our “Portable Instruments” section.
Q: Is the handle heat resistant?
A: Yes, the Bakelite handle is rated to withstand radiated heat, but you should not place the handle itself inside an oven. Only the metal probe tip is designed for direct heat exposure.
