1. Flexible Silicone Heating Tape (Standard Widths)
Hongtai Flexible Silicone Heating Tape is the universal thermal solution for laboratory research and industrial maintenance (MRO). Unlike pre-formed heaters, this ribbon heater is designed to be wrapped manually around irregular shapes, including laboratory glassware, small diameter piping, valves, and transfer lines.
Engineered for extreme flexibility, this Laboratory heating tape features a minimum bend radius of just 6mm (1/4″). It is constructed with multi-strand resistance wire knitted into fiberglass and coated with high-temperature silicone rubber, allowing for continuous operation at 250°C (482°F) and intermittent exposure up to 300°C.

2. Key Technical Features
-
Extreme Flexibility: The knitted fiberglass core allows the tape to wrap tightly around tubes as small as 1/4″ diameter without kinking or breaking the element.
-
High Temperature: Rated for 250°C continuous use, significantly higher than standard PVC heat trace cables.
-
Moisture Resistant: The extruded silicone outer sheath provides IP54 protection against chemical splashes and humidity.
-
Stock Availability: We maintain inventory of standard lengths (0.5m to 5m) for immediate shipment, eliminating the lead time of custom heaters.
-
Rapid Heat Up: Low thermal mass ensures the target temperature is reached in seconds.

5. Installation Guide
-
Wrap: Spirally wrap the tape around the pipe or vessel.
-
Overlap: Do NOT overlap the tape on itself. Overlapping causes internal hot spots and will burn out the heater immediately.
-
Secure: Use high-temperature fiberglass tape or silicone ties to secure the ends.
-
Control: This is a constant wattage heater. It must be used with a temperature controller (like our Digital PID Box) or a variable voltage regulator (Variac) to prevent overheating.
6. FAQ
Q: Can I cut the tape to length?
A: No. The resistance wire runs the full length of the tape. Cutting it breaks the circuit. You must choose the standard length closest to your needs.
Q: Is it self-regulating?
A: No. It delivers constant heat. Without a controller, it will continue to get hotter until it reaches its max temp or fails. Always use a thermostat.
