1. Armor Cable Cartridge Heater (Stainless Steel Hose Protection)
In heavy industrial environments like die casting, forging, and machining, standard fiberglass lead wires often fail due to abrasion, crushing, or cuts from metal chips. The Hongtai Armored Cable Heater addresses this failure point by encasing the lead wires in a rugged Stainless Steel Flexible Hose (Armor) or high-density Metal Braid.
This protected lead wire design ensures that the electrical connection remains intact even when subjected to mechanical abuse, constant movement, or rodent activity. The armor is swaged directly into the heater body, creating a seamless, pull-proof transition that prevents contaminants from entering the heater.

2. Key Technical Features
-
Ultimate Protection: The Metal braid lead heater design resists cuts, crushing, and physical impacts.
-
Swaged Transition: The armor hose is mechanically swaged into the heater sheath, ensuring it cannot be pulled out under tension.
-
Contaminant Proof: The flexible conduit prevents oil, water, and plastic from wicking down the wire into the heater core.
-
High Temperature: Internal wires use fiberglass insulation rated to 450°C.
-
Rodent Proof: Steel armor prevents rats and mice from chewing through cabling in older factories.

4. Comparison: Hose vs. Braid
-
Stainless Steel Hose (Conduit): Offers maximum crush resistance and waterproofing. Ideal for environments with flying metal chips or heavy equipment. However, it has a limited bend radius.
-
Stainless Steel Braid (Mesh): Offers excellent abrasion resistance and flexibility. Ideal for applications with constant movement (robotics/automation), but is not liquid-tight.
5. Applications
-
Die Casting Machines: Nozzle and gooseneck heating where molten metal splash is a risk.
-
CNC Machining: Fixture heating where sharp metal swarf cuts standard wires.
-
Foundries: Harsh, dirty environments requiring rugged components.
-
Railways: Switch heating elements exposed to the elements and pests.
6. FAQ
Q: Can the armor hose be bent sharply?
A: No. Flexible metal conduit has a minimum bend radius (typically 3-4 times the hose diameter). For tight 90-degree bends, we recommend our Right Angle Block heater with armor.
Q: Is the hose waterproof?
A: The metal hose itself is interlocking but not hermetically sealed against high-pressure liquid. For underwater or washdown applications, we recommend a Teflon-coated lead wire instead.
