Equipped with an integrated Thermostat, this Silicone Heater element regulates its own temperature, making it a “plug-and-play” solution for retrofitting equipment. The flexible silicone rubber construction allows the heater to withstand mechanical shock and vibration that would crack rigid ceramic or mica heaters.

5. Installation Guide

  1. Clean: Ensure the target surface (e.g., aluminum plate or tank bottom) is completely free of oil and grease using Isopropyl Alcohol.

  2. Peel: Remove the protective liner from the 3M adhesive backing.

  3. Apply: Roll the heater onto the surface starting from one edge to prevent air bubbles. Air bubbles can cause internal overheating.

  4. Wire: Connect the leads to your 230V power source. Ensure the thermostat bulb (if capillary type) or sensor is in good contact with the heated area.

6. FAQ

Q: Can I cut this heater if it’s too big?

A: No. The internal resistance element runs throughout the entire 400*290mm area. Cutting the silicone will sever the circuit and destroy the heater.

Q: Does the thermostat control air temperature or surface temperature?

A: The thermostat integrated into this Silicone Heater element is designed to sense the temperature of the heater/surface interface. It controls the heat output to maintain the surface temperature, not the ambient air.

Q: How flexible is it?

A: It can wrap around a drum or pipe with a diameter >100mm. However, it is not designed for continuous dynamic flexing (folding back and forth constantly); it is designed to be flexed into position and then stay there.
