Thermocouple Connector Plugs & Sockets (ANSI/IEC Standard)
In precision temperature measurement, a bad connection equals bad data. Hongtai Thermocouple Connectors are engineered to maintain the integrity of your sensor signal from the probe tip to the instrument panel. Unlike generic electrical plugs, our connectors use compensated thermocouple alloys (e.g., Chromel/Alumel pins for Type K) to prevent “cold junction” errors at the connection point.
We offer a complete range of Standard thermocouple connector (Round Pin) and Miniature thermocouple plug (Flat Pin) formats. All housings are strictly color-coded to ANSI (USA) or IEC (Europe) standards, providing a “fool-proof” visual guide that prevents cross-wiring errors in complex instrumentation panels.

Key Technical Features & Benefits
-
Alloy-Matched Pins: The male pins and female sockets are made from the specific thermocouple alloys (not just plated copper). This ensures zero thermal EMF generation at the plug.
-
Color Coded Safety:
-
ANSI (USA): Yellow (Type K), Black (Type J), Blue (Type T), Purple (Type E).
-
IEC (Europe): Green (Type K), Black (Type J), Brown (Type T), Violet (Type E).
-
-
High Temp Options: Standard thermoplastic bodies are rated to 200°C. For vacuum furnaces, we offer High temp ceramic connector bodies rated to 650°C.
-
Quick Wiring: “Sandwich” construction allows for rapid wire termination without loose screws falling out.
-
Panel Mounting: Snap-in panel sockets available for building custom control boxes.

Application Scenarios
-
Instrument Panels: Panel-mount sockets allow operators to quickly plug in handheld probes.
-
Laboratories: Quick-disconnect setups for R&D test rigs.
-
Industrial Ovens: Ceramic connectors used inside the heated zone to extend sensor wires.
-
Plastics Machinery: Connecting mold thermocouples to the mainframe.
Visual Guide: Mini vs. Standard
-
Miniature (Mini): Used on handheld thermometers and fine-wire probes. Pins are flat blades.
-
Standard: Used on heavy-duty industrial probes and extension cables. Pins are round solid rods.
FAQ
Q: Can I use a Type K plug with a Type J wire?
A: No. Mixing alloys will create a “parasitic junction” causing massive temperature errors (up to 50°C offset). You must match Yellow Plug (K) to Yellow Wire (K).
Q: Are the pins solid or hollow?
A: Our Standard connectors feature Solid Pins for durability. Cheaper competitors use hollow tubes which can crush under screw pressure.
